PawFriction is a paw pad coating system designed to improve quality of life for senior dogs and dogs with orthopedic or neurological conditions. PawFriction decreases sliding on smooth floors, increases mobility, and reduces risk of injury.

For aging pets, mobility is life. Muscle loss, arthritis, orthopedic/neurologic issues, and general aging can cause dogs to have significant mobility problems, especially on hardwood and other smooth floors. PawFriction was created to give your senior dog a new lease on life by giving them the ability and confidence to get around. PawFriction immediately restores your dog’s traction without the need for individual sizing or placing objects over the foot.

PawFriction is most effective for dogs with:

  • Arthritis and old age
  • Neurologic conditions: degenerative myelopathy, disc disease, lumbosacral instability, brain tumors, Wobbler’s
  • Orthopedic issues: fractures, ACL injuries, patella luxation
  • Postoperative recovery: back surgery, knee surgery (TPLO, TTA, lateral suture), amputations
  • Confidence issues: reluctant to walk on smooth floors
  • Increasing the success of rehabilitation or physical therapy
  • Other conditions that can make walking on smooth floors difficult

Why it Works
Use It or Lose It
Without use, muscles lose their tone and flexibility and atrophy over time. Unfortunately, many degenerative diseases worsen without movement and exercise.

PawFriction allows your dogs to use their muscles as they normally would, enabling them to strengthen and help fight off orthopedic, neurological and degenerative diseases such as arthritis and dysplasia. In addition, your vet may recommend PawFriction as part of their post-operative rehabilitation. PawFriction enhances your dog’s downward leg force by preventing lateral slipping and splay-legging increasing mobility and confidence.

How to apply –

  • Depending on your dog’s size and activity level.
  • Each application should last 7 days on average.
  • There are 2 to 4 applications per package.
  • Although having the dog stand during application is ideal, some pets will respond better while lying down. Depending on your dog’s temperament, you may need another person to help either process.

Standing Application Directions
Step 1: Trim
Clip your dog’s nails, if needed as well as the hair between your dog’s pads. An inexpensive trimmer works great.

Step 2: Clean
Clean your dog’s pads with water or rubbing alcohol. Make sure the pads are completely dry before proceeding.

Step 3: Prepare the Tray
Prepare the tray by lining it completely with the blue PawFriction traction granules. Replenish the granules as needed throughout the process to ensure even application.

Step 4: Prepare the Adhesive
Simply cut the tip of the adhesive tube 1/3 way down the tip at a 45-degree angle.

Step 5: Applying the Adhesive
With the tray underneath the paw, gently bend your dog’s leg at the knee and apply a thin layer of the PawFriction adhesive to the paw pads. Focus on the areas that contact the ground, and avoid getting any in your dog’s hair.

Step 6: Applying the Granules
Immediately straighten your dog’s leg back into standing position and press the entire paw into the PawFriction tray. Lift the paw and press it down again. Hold for 30 seconds.

Step 7: Clean and Repeat
Gently brush excess PawFriction granules off your dog’s paw and repeat the process for each leg.

Step 8: Treat Time
Reward your dog’s good behavior with a treat, and store leftover granules and adhesive for your next application.

Lying Down Application Directions
Step 1: Trim

While holding your dog’s paw, turn it slightly upwards and sprinkle the PawFriction traction granules onto the pads liberally. Use your fingers to apply granules to any exposed surfaces. And wait 1 Minute.

Step 7: Clean and Repeat
Gently brush excess PawFriction granules off your dog’s paw and repeat the process for each leg.

Step 8: Treat Time
Reward your dog’s good behavior with a treat, and store leftover granules and adhesive for your next application.

Returns and Exchanges

Our customer service team double check orders before they are sent out, it’s important to us that you receive the correct order. If by chance you receive an incorrect item, or there is an issue concerning the quality of the product, please notify us within 14 days and we will offer a refund or exchange free of charge.

If you made a mistake with your order, you can return or exchange such item within 14 days of delivery, however you will bear the cost of returning the goods to us as well as the re-delivery fee.

To qualify for a full refund, returned items must arrive at our vet clinic, Kowloon Veterinary Hospital in their original packaging, in an unopened and resalable state. Please also include your original invoice and a copy of any email correspondence.  Items returned damaged, with the security seal broken, incomplete or not in a resalable condition will not be accepted.

Sale items cannot be returned or exchanged except as noted by Hong Kong law.

Each manufacturer provides their own warranty period.  If your product is faulty within the said warranty period, please contact them regarding a replacement or a repair.

We recommend you use a reputable courier service such as SF Express and HK Post when returning goods as we are not liable for items lost or damaged during their return to us.

We aim to process returns as swiftly as possible, and should be processed within 14 days after we receive their return deliver.  The only delay may be if additional information is required from the original manufacturer.

Please ensure you contact us before returning items as any unauthorised returns will not be accepted and will be rejected upon arrival.

Delivery Terms

Enjoy free delivery anywhere in Hong Kong for orders over HK$300 (excluding islands and special districts). A shipping fee of HK$80 is added to orders below the minimum amount. We do not ship to locations outside of Hong Kong.

  1. You can request the goods be delivered to your address or pick up at closest SF Express station.
  2. SF-express surcharges for shipments delivered to remote areas or non-commercial and industrial areas. The surcharge will be borne by the purchaser at the time of delivery.
  3. Delivery is only made to the area that vehicles are accessible.
  4. Delivery will not be made on statutory holidays, we will schedule the delivery on the following day.

Processing Time

We aim to deliver all purchases within 3 business days of ordering. In the unlikely event that your order will take longer than 3 business days, we will contact you to let you know the estimated shipping date.

Receiving Deliveries

All deliveries require a signature and delivery times cannot be confirmed. We recommend you leave alternative delivery details should you not be home at the time of delivery.  These may include leaving your order at the front door, or alternatively delivering to the management office.  Kindly note we are not responsible for items after delivery has been completed.

Delivery service will be suspended when typhoon signal No.8 or above or a black rain warning is hoisted.
